Oil and tempera on panel, 58.4 × 81.5 cm

Originally the painting had a frame on which the Latin phrase Convenerunt in Unum ("They came together"), taken from Psalm 2, was inscribed. The inscription under the seated figure reads OPVS PETRI DE BVRGO SANCTI SEPVLCRI – "the work of Piero of Borgo Santo Sepolcro"

Scholars disagree on almost everything about this picture, including where it was intended to be placed or shown. Today it can be seen at the Ducal Palace in Urbino, Italy ↑
